This guide is split into two parts.

If this is your first time doing this, follow through both parts. If you have already created your own "Remove Audio" conversion profile (shown how in part 1), you can skip to part 2 of this guide.

[Part 1] First run through, creating the "Remove Audio" conversion profile:

1. Open VLC (Windows Start Menu -> VideoLAN -> VLC media player)

2. Open the Convert Dialogue (Media -> Convert / Save) and add a file you wish to remove the audio from using the “Add…” button. Click “Convert / Save” when you are finished.

3. Click the small white and yellow "New Profile" button in the "Profile" row. In the pop-up window, under "Encapsulation", select "MP4/MOV". Under "Video codec" select "Video" and "Keep original video track". Under "Audio Codec" make sure "Audio" is deselected. Give the profile a name by clicking into the top bar, and typing in the name. Click "Create" to create your profile. Finally, select that profile from the profile list.

4. Click "Browse" in the "Destination" selection to browse to the output location. Type the name of the output file in the "File Name" field. Click "Save" and finally "Start" in order to start the conversion.

[Part 2] Doing the conversion using your created profile:

2. Open the Convert Dialogue (Media -> Convert / Save) and add the file you wish to remove the audio from using the “Add…” button. Click “Convert / Save” when you are finished.
